The Bank of the Republic of Haiti was established on August 17, 1979, through the enactment of the Monetary and Financial Act of 1979. It replaced the National Bank of the Republic of Haiti, which had previously served as the country's central bank. The Governor of the Central Bank of Haiti is Ronald Gabriel, who assumed office on October 8, 2023.
